Foundation welcomes Karen Williams as VP of Development & Donor Relations

June 2, 2017

The Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty board and staff is pleased to welcome Karen Williams as Vice President of Development and Donor Relations. Williams’ primary focus will be on building and maintaining relationships with new and existing donors, the business community, and other key stakeholders to enhance the Foundation’s profile and impact in the community.

“Karen is a great addition to the Foundation’s team,” said Erin Clemons, President & CEO. “She is enthusiastic about our mission and has valuable development experience in the non-profit sector. We’re excited to have her join us.”

Williams joins the Community Foundation from the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati where she served as Vice President of Development and Communications. During her successful tenure at Boys & Girls Club, she managed a $10M capital campaign and achieved an increase in fundraising revenue by 65% over three years. She has more than 13 years of development experience in the non-profit sector, and has held leadership positions with organizations such as the National Speaking of Women’s Health Foundation and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Cincinnati.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to join the Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty,” said Williams. “With their vision for the future to continue to grow as a leader and resource for philanthropy and improve the quality of life in the West Chester/Liberty community, I am looking forward to making an immediate impact to sustain the legacy of this phenomenal organization.”

The VP of Development and Donor Relations is a new role at the Community Foundation. Its creation follows a Strategic Plan and Community Needs Assessment initiative undertaken by Board of Directors to shift the organization’s focus toward achieving greater community impact and securing the completion of the Forever Fund Operating Endowment.

“Karen will be a phenomenal asset as we move forward toward a new chapter at the Foundation,” said Ian Murray, Community Foundation Board Chair. “Her vision and background align perfectly with our organizational goals as outlined in the recent strategic plan.”

The Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty works to encourage, support and facilitate philanthropy and improve the quality of life in West Chester and Liberty Townships.
