Nominations for Lakota Educator of Excellence open through April 9th

March 8, 2018

The Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty, in partnership with Lakota Local Schools, is currently accepting nominations for the 2018 Lakota Educator of Excellence Awards. The deadline to nominate an educator is Monday, April 9th. This award was established in 2007 to recognize educators in the Lakota School District who demonstrate consistency and high commitment to students. These individuals motivate, share ideas, inspire, support, create and go beyond to make a difference in the community. The Foundation will present three Lakota Educator of Excellence Awards; 2 awards will be presented to recipients representing grades Pre-k-6th and grades 7-12. These honors each include a $1000 grant to implement a special classroom project. A third, non-monetary, award will be presented to a Lakota administrator who has shown extraordinary commitment to the students and teachers of Lakota Local Schools, and to the community. Recipients are chosen by a committee of representatives from Lakota and the Community Foundation from the nomination forms submitted.
