$200,000 Grant Awarded To Reach Out Lakota

May 5, 2021

A $200,000 grant from the Community foundation of West Chester/Liberty is helping to secure the future of Reach Out Lakota.

Since 1992 Reach Out Lakota has been an essential safety net for thousands of families in our community, distributing over $3.5M pounds of food as well as clothing and household essentials for those in need of a hand-up. The Community Foundation was an early supporter of Reach Out Lakota and awarded its first grant in 1999 to support their mission. The partnership that followed has resulted in nearly $550,000 in grant funding - dollars that have helped stock the pantry, provide back-to-school supplies and Christmas gifts, and expand their facility to accommodate more clients.

“The Foundation is proud to support Reach Out Lakota,” said Erin Clemons, Community Foundation President & CEO. “We believe in their mission and hope this grant will help meet current and future needs in West Chester/Liberty.”

The community is invited to celebrate at an outdoor Happy Hour & Grant Presentation Event on Thursday, July 22nd from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Reach Out Lakota. There will be a brief presentation at 5:00. For more information and to RSVP, please visit https://ROLcelebration.eventbrite.com
